Happy New Year!!!

We can't believe another year is at an end! Our charity has made quite some strides in the past 4 years since we started in December of 2008. We've provided assistance for over 1,300 treatments to injured service members, we've been awarded a grant, and we're beginning new programs to expand our reach to helping injured veterans make the transition back to civilian life easier. It's truly a wonderful and exciting time at HHN!

We wish everyone a happy and safe new year's eve and day, and we hope you all have great luck in the coming year!

Happy Birthday to the U. S. National Guard

Happy 376th Birthday to our oldest military organization, the National Guard!

The National Guard even predates the United States, originating in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636 as the militia. But these citizen soldiers still pack a punch. The U.S. National Guard has served our country overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan and domestically when helping during natural disasters like the recent Hurricane Sandy.

To our men and women who are "Always Ready, Always There," we are 'Always Grateful' for your service. Happy Birthday National Guard!

Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

This year is the 71st anniversary of the horrible attacks on Pearl Harbor in 1941. This event was the very catalyst that brought America into the fight of WWII.

Unfortunately it sometimes takes something tragic to make us appreciate our armed forces and service members. So please take a moment today to remember those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor so many years ago, all who sacrificed in wars to fight tyranny, and everyone else who was left back home to worry and try to carry on.

December 7, 1941. A date that even today still lives in infamy.

Happy Thanksgiving from Healing Heroes Network

It's the time for family and food and cheer. Thanksgiving is the great American holiday, in which we all think of what we are grateful for.

This year, remember how thankful we should all be to our service members.  When you settle in to watch the big game, think of our troops who must risk their lives every day trying to make this world a better, safer place to live in. When you take that big bite of turkey and sweet potatoes, think of our homeless veterans that struggle daily for food and shelter.  When you hug your family, think of all those who aren't able to because they gave the ultimate sacrifice and died for their country.

This Thanksgiving, we at Healing Heroes Network are grateful for the men and women who bravely serve and have served in our armed forces.

Happy 237th Birthday Marines

November 10th is the birthdate of our U.S. Marine Corps. 237 years of excellence and valor.

While this clip may be a couple years old, we think the USMC will probably continue to do #1.

We at the Healing Heroes Network would like to wish you a happy birthday. Hooah!

HHN Winners of the Mike Alstott Community Grant

We are excited to announce we were the winners of the 2012 Mike Alstott Family Foundation Community Grant. After being selected as one of ten "finalists," the Mike Alstott Family Foundation posted a contest on their Facebook page for fans to "vote" for their favorite charity to win the grant. Fans could vote once a day, every day until the end of the contest on October 15th at 11:55 pm.

Let's just say, you guys did NOT disappoint! For two weeks fans voted on Facebook and urged their friends to do the same. On October 16, 2012, HHN had the most votes at 1712, 381 votes higher than the second place charity!

The Mike Alstott Family Foundation will be awarding the grant to HHN to use towards our Welcome Home, Hero program, which provides financial assistance to military families of wounded service members injured in Iraq or Afghanistan since 9/11/01 to use towards basic necessities, including food, shelter, and clothing.

"We will now be able to help up to an additional 20 families," said HHN Executive Director, Stacey Spiegel. "That's just incredible. We at HHN and the service members we help are so grateful to our supporters and the Mike Alstott Family Foundation."
