Honoring the Fallen and Homebound with Music

Even with Christmas just around the corner, one group had visions of something other than sugarplums in their heads. They wanted to throw an event to support our troops, honor the fallen, and celebrating with those who were home at last.

On December 23, 2011, at The Tillicum Bar & Grill in Portland, Oregon, The Norman Sylvester Band and Boogie Cat Productions presented an event to welcome home veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. That evening, the band played cool blues music for the returning servicemen and women and their family and friends. All the tips went to benefit the wounded warriors of the Healing Heroes Network.

The cause is one dear to the band members of NSB. Norman Sylvester's nephew, Travis Whitman, died in Iraq while courageously serving his country.

We at Healing Heroes want to thank the Norman Sylvester Band and Boogie Cat Productions for taking the time to plan and execute this evening for the fine men and women coming home and honoring those who are no longer with us.
